Characters: Hellvern Blacktotem. Tecumseh Blacktotem, Cusi Blacktotem, Hessen Blacktotem, Osan 'Blackhand' Strongtusk. Brundel Bearhammer. Galbraithen Or'mand.

Brief Description: Hellvern was originally black furred all over, but now the ageing process has set in and he is suffering from white hairs, in some cases they have consumed huge areas of his body. He has a scar across his snout from a fight with Gurubashi trolls. His horns are etched with scratches and on the inside of one horn are the number of important kills Hellvern has made. His eyes are now a mist grey colour.

Character Background: Hellvern originates from the Blacktotem tribe, a small group of families who originally broke away from the Grimtotem. Living up in the mountains of Mulgore, the Blacktotem were relatively safe from Centaur attacks, until the pinnacle of Centaur aggression. When Hellvern was the age of 10 he learnt how to hunt and fight. By the age of 20, he had already fought the Centaur and even Grimtotem on countless occasions.
The Blacktotem being so small, often turned to live with other tribes, the tribes would take them on, and in return the Blacktotem Braves would fight for them, this gave birth to the Blacktotem tradition of Mercenary warfare, though it was often not paid through gold but food and goods.
One day, during a large Centaur raid on their village, the Blacktotem called for help from the local Grimtotem. The two had promised each other protection from the raiding hordes of savage Pig men and Centaur. The Grimtotem however never came, and the village was almost lost had it not been for a lucky arrow killing the Centaur leader.
In response, Hellvern, and his surviving band of warriors, their families fleeing to higher ground, and their chief dead, set out to skirmish with the Centaur, and eventually drove them back. When reinforcements from the only other Blacktotem village arrived, they devised a plan to take vengeance on the local Grimtotem when the Centaur had been defeated.
When the Centaur were gone, Hellvern went with the band to destroy the Grimtotem village. The Grimtotem were caught of guard, their braves killed, and most of the villages occupants either taken prisoner or fled. During the Blacktotems violent occupation, a young brave murdered the villages Chieftain and turned to kill his only daughter. Hellvern stopped him, and instead kidnapped the daughter, whom was of a similar age, and claimed she was his prize for the battle. Some feuds broke loose, but eventually Hellvern had his way.
Some time later, just before the arrival of the orcs, Hellvern gained the favour of the dead Chiefs daughter, thus they married, and she bore him their first child: Hessen his first son, and then his first daughter: Cusi.

When the orcs arrived on the shores of Kalimdor, Hellvern and his band of fighters were drawn to Cairnes call to fight beside the Orcs. The other tribes were at first a bit suspicious of the Blacktotem: their Grimtotem heritage and known savagery at the Grimtotem camp to blame. However when the fighting started against the Burning Legion, all was forgotten, but the Blacktotem paid dearly in the war.
When the Burning legion was expelled, the Blacktotem had lost most of their male population.
Many returned to the mountains of mulgore to rebuild the tribe, whilst others went to help in the creation of Thunder Bluff.
Hellvern on the other hand decided to take his family to live with the orcs awhile, during his travels across the Barrens and Durotar, occasionally visiting Mulgore (and sometimes even visits to old friends in Stonetalon and the Thousand Needles), his wife gave birth to his third child, Tecumseh.
They settled down for awhile, until the unthinkable happened: His wife died of a fever.

Distraught by the loss of his beloved, Hellvern broke down, his mental lapse cost him dear; Hessen, condemning his father for his mothers death, left to join a Horde expeditionary force to Eastern kingdoms to meet the Forsaken only to be killed in a Skirmish with Scourge.
Cusi fled taking her younger brother with him, when Hellvern demanded she marry a grimtotem to recover lost family fortune. When all were gone, Hellvern fell into a state of drinking and finding whores to fill the hole in his life.
Eventually, he murdered a Tauren during a brawl after an argument, and haven broken the law, fled from the Barrens going to Booty Bay, and became a Mercenary. Since then he has fought nearly everywhere and anywhere. He has fought countless battles against the Alliance and other foes, including the Burning Legion during the invasion of Outland, and most of the inhabitants of Northrend.
After becoming a Mercenary, and traveling with a maniac of a goblin who taught him the secrets of engineering, he fought across the Eastern Kingdoms, either for the Horde or for the Cartel. He would on occasion travel to fight across Kalimdor, especially against the Night Elves or other foul beings.
One day he was drafted in to fight the Dwarves in Alterac Valley, a campaign which nearly cost him his life. After being severely injured, he left for Silvermoon.
Hellverns time as a soldier though was not over, he was quickly employed by various Blood Elven Houses who waged wars between each other, and even a war against the Second Gurubashi Empire orchestrated by an Elven House known as Stareye, before their defeat and expulsion. He fought many battles with the Orcs of the Red Blade after the fall of Stareye.
Afterwards he served in and led numerous conflicts with an order known as 'The Keepers' which had the destruction of the Scourge and Burning Legion at heart, but ended up also helped policing Silvermoon from gangs and Alliance invasions of the north. Reaching second in Command, after nearly a year of leading the Keepers it became clear it was near collapse.
Sometime after the Keepers destruction after popular demand because of 'corruption' and failure to control its more destructive characters, Hellvern joined yet another Elven family house which came to replace the Keepers, but was even less successful despite growing to a large size. Though he was left alone and not scrutinised due to his career, he felt the brunt of hatred for this house, and was often called to defend it. Eventually though it too fell, and failed attempts to recreate it also failed sometime after the invasion of Northrend, leaving him practically abandoned in a warzone, to which he returned to the horde forces.
Times now became even more interesting for Hellvern, he was recovering relations with his children, and though he had two failed marriage attempts haunting him during his stay with the Elves, he enjoyed a bountiful relationship with many, including the Gurubashis. This reached its pinnacle when his son Hessen, turned up one day at the Horde base in Grizzly Hills where Hellvern was stationed during a trek to Icecrown. Hellvern was shocked, even more so by the fact his son was now a Death knight: A cold almost robotic shell of what used to be a proud and brave boy.
The experience of meeting his son led him into relations with Taur Nu Fuin for awhile after leaving the Horde forces who discharged him when the unit he was fighting in, though successful, was worn down to only a few survivors during their battles across Dragonblight. Taur Nu Fuin needed veterans to operate with them against the Scourge, during his time under Taur Nu Fuin, Hellvern came into a close relationship with a Tauren named Marren, a Feralkin. They spent many months together, Marren eventually becoming pregnant with Hellverns fourth child. After Taur Nu Fuin disbanded when its leader retired, he worked with two other Anti-Scourge groups before retiring from war against the Scourge after the Lich Kings death.
Now, Hellvern was some what left in a lonely state. Save for the support of his offspring and his love Marren. A trouble some relationship with the leader of a splinter group of Grimtotem nearly caused him to commit suicide. Thankfully for him, the attempt failed, and he was found and picked up by another Tauren druid who cared for him, when he was better, he offered his thanks, and left to find Marren, they spent more months together, before Marren had to go away for a very long time to find a safe place to resist the taint of a Feralkin, and perhaps even a safe haven to give birth to her child. Hellverns trouble some relationship with the leader of the Grimtotem continued, until its recent abrupt end.
Some time later, Hellvern already aware of the Blackbloods, having helped in a situation against the Red Blades, and helped in an attempted rescue of a human prisoner kept by the Corrupt Stormwind officials, he is now a Blackblood.

OOC: Okey thats the short version, their are plenty of other bits involved, such as his relationship with two elf women at different stages, and his relationship with an Orc female in the Red Blades. I also missed the part where he becomes leader of an attempt to rekindle the 'Keepers' which collapses again sometime after he leads a force of them in co-ordination with the second siege of Stromgarde against the Arathorians in the Long War against Arathor.

OOC: Reading others applications I decided I missed putting in Hellies personality!

Hellverns Personality: Hellvern often comes across as ignorant and dismissive towards others he doesn't know. He can often be very insulting, probably due to miss use of Alchohol or his lack of socialising with 'civilised' folk. However, despite his grumpy attitude, he can be extremely protective. Once his trust has been gained, he will be extremely loyal.
